Flock Share

How the Program Works

You purchase an undesignated hen from Red Pond Farm’s laying flock. For a nominal monthly fee, Red Pond Farm will provide housing, bedding, feed, water, daily care, and personal interaction for your chicken.

Your chicken will enjoy daily pasture life on our 33-acre chemical-free, full-circle farm with the rest of the Red Pond Farm flock and the flock’s two guardian geese. We will supplement her daily foraging with the best local feed and find shelter in one of our mobile chicken coops.

As your chicken continues to live her best chicken life, we will collect your eggs daily and store them at or below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, until we deliver them to you at the designated Red Pond Farm bi-monthly drop. Please note; If you would like your eggs kept at room temperature please let us know prior to submitting the agreement.

You are always welcome to schedule a visit with your chicken and her friends at Red Pond Farm, and if you desire, you may move your chicken to your home at any time.

Program Fees

The initial share cost is $20.00 and is applied for the purchase of your hen. The one-time flat cost makes you the official chicken owner. The hen is undesignated so we can manage the hens holistically as a unified flock. This allows us to ensure that you receive 6 ungraded, pastured raised fresh eggs each week (as a hens’ laying production can vary with the season and her molting period).

The boarding fee is $11.00 per month per hen. You may purchase as many hens as you like. Outside of the initial share costs and monthly boarding costs, there are no other costs.

9-Month Subscription $119.00 ($20 Initial Share Cost plus $99.00 maintenance fee)

12-Month Subscription $140.00 ($20 Initial Share Cost plus $120.00 maintenance fee

24-Month Subscription $236.00 ($20 Initial Share Cost plus $216.00 maintenance fee

Moving Her From the Farm

You may take physical possession of your hen(s) at any point; however, once a hen or hens leave the Red Pond Farm property she/they may not return.

In addition, If you would like to leave the Flock Share Program and your hen(s) remains on our farm Red Pond Farm assume ownership and allow her to continue living an awesome chicken life in our flock as long as she is healthy.
